Revealing Histories - Remembering Slavery

The People's History Museum, Bridge Street, Manchester

The People's History Museum is currently closed for a multi-million pound redevelopment project. During this period visitors can still see some of the most popular displays in our temporary home in the 1830 Warehouse at Museum of Science & Industry (MOSI).

From late 2009 the museum's main galleries, changing exhibitions, education facilities, archives, textile conservation studio, corporate facilities, café and shop will be housed in one building - a refurbished Pump House with a spectacular new extension.

The People's History Museum's collections relating to slavery include political cartoons, prints and tokens from the 1700s and 1800s. Later material covers slavery's legacy and its effects on the lives of working people in Britain.
